Day 1: Arrival in Dakar
Arrival at Blaise Diagne International Airport
Transfer to your hotel (Lodge des Almadies 3*** or similar).
Dinner at the hotel.
Day 2: Explore Dakar & Île de Gorée
Visit the African Renaissance Monument, the Corniche, and the Presidential Palace.
Ferry to Île de Gorée, a UNESCO site known for its history in the slave trade.
Visit the Maison des Esclaves and Gorée’s historical museums.
Dinner at Le Patio.
Day 3: Dakar to Lac Rose
Visit the Soumbédioune artisanal village for local crafts.
Explore Lac Rose (Lake Retba), famous for its salt extraction and changing colors.
4×4 adventure through dunes and along the old Paris-Dakar rally route.
Stay at Keur Salim Camp (or similar), dinner included.
Day 4: Lac Rose to Lompoul Desert
Visit the Turtle Village of Noflaye and learn about local conservation efforts.
Continue to Lompoul Desert for a camel ride, dune walk, and sunset.
Overnight at a desert camp, with a traditional méchoui dinner and drumming.
Day 5: Lompoul Desert to Saint Louis
Early morning visit to Guelakh village, known for its ecological initiatives and community-driven development.
Transfer to Saint Louis, stay at Diamarek Hotel or similar.
Dinner at the hotel.
Day 6: Djoudj National Bird Sanctuary
Visit Djoudj National Park, the third-largest bird reserve in the world (UNESCO-listed).
Return to Saint Louis for a guided calèche (horse-drawn carriage) tour of the city and a visit to the Guet Ndar fishing village.
Dinner at the hotel.
Day 7: Saint Louis to Palmarin (Saloum Delta)
Drive towards the Saloum Delta, stopping at the leather artisan town of Ngaye Mekhe.
Visit Fadial’s giant baobab tree.
Stay at Ecolodge Palmarin, located between the ocean and the Saloum River.
Dinner at the lodge.
Day 8: Saloum Delta Exploration
Take a boat tour through the Saloum Delta, known for its rich biodiversity (UNESCO site).
Picnic on one of the delta’s islands, with opportunities to swim.
Return to the ecolodge for dinner.
Day 9: Palmarin to Saly (via Joal Fadiouth)
Visit Joal Fadiouth, known for its island of shells and millet granaries.
Continue to Saly, check in at Royam Hotel 4**** or similar.
Dinner at the hotel.
Day 10: Bandia Reserve & Departure
Morning safari at Bandia Reserve, spotting giraffes, rhinos, and zebras.
Lunch at Somone, followed by souvenir shopping.
Transfer to the airport for departure.
